A Meeting In Hotel Mattu Part 1
Prakash became the youngest school headmaster of Hasinapur town. He was only 38 years old. He knew well how to bend the rules and exploit the system to get things done. He bribed the local official and managed to get this post. Everyone was jealous of him. Not only because he was so rich and well settled already, but also because he has a buxom, hot wife. She was 10 years younger than him. Bindu was exactly what every man dreamed of. Short and curvy. Not too fat but had the right amount of flesh that accentuated her hotness. She had long black hair that she often plaited or rolled up in a bun. Wore sarees that often exposed her cleavage, hips, and navel. Wore a jarring red lipstick which made her lips look more inviting. Bindu was the best looking girl from his village. She immediately accepted to marry him after seeing his rich lifestyle. He owned a house, a car and was making a lot of money illegally. So it was a natural choice. After becoming the headmaster he continued his cheating business. He sold exam question papers to a lot of people for a huge amount of money. He also used his power to appoint people in school for different work after taking a big chunk of their salary. Everything was going smooth. That was till a local reporter found out about him and wrote an article about the illegal business in his paper. Prakash was scared. He knew it was just a matter of time before some big newspaper or TV channel picks the news. Then his career will be in soup. He had to stop it and there was only one person who can do it. The local town councilor, Uttam. Everyone knew he had complete control over the entire town mainly because of his contacts with big politicians and rich gangsters. He had every government official in his pocket and was a womanizer too. People were scared of him and always tried to be in his good books. All illegal business used to pay him a cut every month like protection money. Unfortunately, Prakash didn’t. Prakash went to see him at his office. Though he wasn’t the senior-most official there, there were more people waiting to see him than others. Uttam realized the mess Prakash was in. His secretary quickly gave information about Prakash’s background and that made him more excited. “Prakashji, woh kya iPhone 7 hai? Dikhaye zara.” While Prakash kept telling about his problem, Uttam picked up the phone from Prakash’s pocket. He went into the gallery section. He smiled seeing the pic of Prakash and his wife which they clicked during a recent trip. He pinched and zoomed to see Bindu closely. She was in a yellow saree and looked quite sexy in it. His body warmed up just by looking at her. He wasn’t even listening properly. He kept looking at her every curve of hers. After a good ten minutes of stalking through the gallery, he gave back the phone to Prakash. “Prakashji, ap ek kam kijiye. Mere secretary se mere hotel ka pata likh lijiye. Aaj sham ko wahan milte hai. Baat bhi kuch aisi hai ki yahan office mein discuss nahi kar sakte. Ap fikar mat kijiye ham sab kuch theek kar denge.” Prakash folded his hands and got up to leave thanking him. His eyes filled with gratitude. “Aree ek aur cheej bhul gaya. Aate waqt bhabhi ko sath leke aana. Aur ek bottle rum bhi. Bahut thak gaya doosron ka kam kar karke. Aaj thoda relax karne ka man kar raha hai,” he winked. He called the next person, not giving any chance to Prakash to reply to this order. Bindu shivered as their taxi stopped in front of a dingy hotel. She covered her head with her palloo and hid behind her hubby when they crossed the reception. The hotel attendees were already passing dirty looks at her and she felt very uncomfortable. “Room 108, King Soo-ittee (Suite),” shouted the receptionist passing a creepy smile and clicked his tongue. Prakash led his buxom pretty wife up the dirty stairs stained with red pan marks and beer bottles piled up at every corner. They reached the door of 108. His hands shivered tightly gripping the rum bottle that he was carrying. He raised his other hand and knocked on the door. He nodded at his wife. She dropped the palloo from her head exposing her lovely black hair that was open and her glowing fair face. Her eyes bowed down in shame and disgust. Uttam’s secretary opened the door and smiled. He welcomed them in. It was quite small for a king suite and thankfully much cleaner than other parts of the hotel. An old wooden double cot with a new bedspread. A flower pot with plastic flowers on top of the table. A small mini bar beneath it. A flat-screen TV fixed on the wall at an odd height was playing some old Bollywood songs. The window A/C was sending moist air continuously almost making one sick. The old slow fan making squeaky noises echoing in the room. “Aap idhar baithiye, sahab bathroom mein hai,” the secretary said locking the door behind them. He poured a glass of water for both of them. He took the bottle of rum from Prakash’s hand and put it on the table. He often glanced at Bindu and smiled. When he realized it was too awkward for them, he went and knocked the washroom door. “Sir, woh agaye,” he kept his ear closer to the door as he got his instructions from inside. “Theek hai sir. Main nikalta hoon fir. Sir, woh thoda cash manga tha na,” he again listened to the door, scratching his head nervously. “Acha Prakash sir se le loon? Theek hai sir fir aap call kijiye main aajaunga gaadi leke, Good night, sir.” He approached Prakash. “Sir thoda 1000 rupaye chahiye. Uttam sahab ne bola aap se le loon,” he smiled as he saw Prakash pull out his wallet and give him the cash. He counted it looking at Bindu and that sent shivers down her spine. He saluted Prakash with mock respect. “Thank you, sahab. Ye mera number le lijiye. Aapko kuch madad chahe to call kar lena.” He locked the room door behind him and at the same time the bathroom door opened. Uttam walked out still tying the strings of his pajamas.
